BREAKING NEWS: Giants decide not to sign Aaron Rodgers…

Giants make decision on Russell Wilson

The New York Giants are in search of their next starting quarterback after parting ways with veteran starting quarterback Daniel Jones last season, but it does not look like Russell Wilson will be that option.

After one season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Russell Wilson became an unrestricted free agent this offseason for the first time in his career. Last week, he visited with the New York Giants, but it seems that the team decided not to offer him a contract.

As NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk points out, it seems like the Giants have decided not to sign Wilson until Aaron Rodgers makes his decision.

“The Giants are, by all appearances, waiting to see what Aaron Rodgers does. When he reached out to the Giants during the week of the Scouting Combine, he had nothing else going on. Now, he does; the Steelers have reportedly made an offer, and the Vikings are still lurking,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk wrote.

“He’s in a position where can and is ready to sign somewhere,” Fowler said of Wilson. “But he appears to be the backup No. 2 option in both Pittsburgh and New York, so he’s gotta wait on the Rodgers domino to fall most likely. Cleveland is a wild card.”
