Storm confirm star’s worst fears as astonishing injury toll worsens in aftermath of brutal Panthers clash

The Storm have confirmed that star halfback Jahrome Hughes has suffered a broken hand, joining a growing casualty ward in the aftermath of their win over the Panthers.
The 30-year-old will have surgery on Saturday and is expected to miss two matches, according to a club statement.
“The halfback sustained the injury during the first half but played on, he will have surgery tomorrow and is expected to miss two matches,” the statement read.
Meanwhile back-rower Eli Kotoa and winger Grant Anderson suffered knee injuries and Nelson Asofa-Solomona has been stood down under the NRL’s concussion protocols.
Ironically the injury seems to have occurred in the same tackle that saw his opposite Nathan Cleary ruled out of the game and next week with a concussion.
Hughes was involved in the collision that ruled Cleary out of the game and was seen clutching at his hand in the aftermath.
