Pecco Bagnaia wins the American grand prix

The 2025 MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas was full of drama, twists and turns. From a delayed start to Marc Marquez crashing out from the lead of the race, there was plenty of action, with Pecco Bagnaia emerging victorious.
Drama before the start
About half an hour before the race began, it rained a little and that left the circuit slightly wet in some places. While the track was drying quickly before the start, riders on the grid had to choose between rain tyres or slicks. Track House Racing’s Ayo Agura was on slicks while Pole sitter Marc Marquez was on rain tyres.
With three minutes before the start, however, Marc decided to run off the grid to his pitbox and switch to the bike with slick tyres as he felt the conditions were dry enough. Looking at him a majority of the rest of the field ran to the pitlane to switch bikes, leading to a delayed start. It was a bizarre sight and the race was restarted after a 10 minute delay.
Pecco wins after Marquez’s crash
As soon as the lights went out, Marquez rocketed off the line and into the distance, with Alex in hot pursuit followed by Pecco Baganaia. Such was Marc’s pace that he ended up pulling a gap of over a second to his brother Alex. As the race progressed, the gap rose to well over two seconds. While he was leading, Pecco overtook Alex to get into P2 and began hunting Marquez.
