Lions 4-round mock draft gives Detroit 17-sack EDGE to pair with Aidan Hutchinson

The Detroit Lions once again fell short of their first Super Bowl appearance in 2024 and will now look to reload during the offseason and make another run in 2025.

The offense was one of the league’s best in 2024, but the team does have a few question marks on that side of the ball, especially along the offensive line. The defense was plagued by injuries and struggled badly at times.

The Lions have decisions to make on their own free agents on defense, and they must add more depth and long-term solutions at a few positions.

On paper, the Lions have an elite roster that is young enough to sustain success. However, nothing in the NFL is guaranteed, and the team needs to nail the 2025 NFL Draft if it hopes to maintain this level of success for years to come.

The Lions’ pass rush was a disappointment in 2024. Aidan Hutchinson didn’t play after early October and still ended the season as the team’s sacks leader with 7.5. Even if Za’Darius Smith returns, the Lions need more depth and a long-term solution opposite Hutchinson.

Adding another talented edge rusher should be at the top of the team’s priority list. Mike Green from Marshall could be exactly what the Lions need.

Green exploded in 2024 with 17 sacks and 23 tackles for loss. Green easily led the Sun Belt in sacks and demonstrated an elite motor and impressive speed off the edge.

There are concerns about the level of competition Green faced, but ending up in Detroit opposite Hutchinson could be a perfect landing spot. This is the type of high-upside prospect this unit needs.
