POSSIBLE OLYMPIC GAMES SELECTION: CHARLEY HULL AND GEORGIA HALL JOIN TOMMY FLEETWOOD AND MATT FITZPATRICK IN PARIS 2024
The Olympic Games women’s golf competition will feature Georgia Hall and Charley Hull, as their spots on Team GB were secured on Saturday. Hull is scheduled to compete in her second Olympics, while major champion Hall will be attending her first Games. The women’s golf tournament is scheduled for August 7–10.
Georgia Hall and Charley Hull will both represent Team GB in the women’s golf competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The pair will join GB men Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick at Le Golf National, with Hall set for her Olympic debut in France.
It will be Hull’s second appearance at the Games after finishing joint seventh at Rio 2016.
Team GB Paris 2024 chef de mission, Mark England said in quotes published by teamgb.com: “We are delighted to welcome Charley and Georgia to Team GB for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“Whilst Georgia is set to make her Olympic Games debut in Paris this summer, she is no stranger to Team GB. Back in 2013, not only did she win two gold medals at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival, but she was also our flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony.
“It is also great to have Charley back in the team for a second Olympic Games.”
Team GB golf team leader, Nigel Edwards, added: “Charley and Georgia are incredibly experienced golfers and fantastic additions to the Team GB golf line up. I look forward to working with both of them in Paris, as Georgia makes her Olympic debut and Charlie returns following an impressive Games in Rio in 2016.”
Hall and Hull both have an impressive pedigree in the sport, with the former winning her first major at the Women’s British Open six years ago.
