Broncos Notebook: Denver hopes to “build on the strengths” of quarterback Bo Nix as it gets ready for the Seahawks’ new look.
The Broncos are finally going to put their skills to the test in a game that matters after a competitive summer and a perfect preseason.
Additionally, head coach Sean Payton stated on Monday that the team will try to highlight the greatest aspects of quarterback Bo Nix’s game as he gets ready to start the season opener and become the first rookie quarterback for the Broncos since John Elway.

Less than ten miles away, Nix will make his NFL debut in 2023 against the Washington Huskies, a top-10 club, alongside the eighth-ranked Oregon Ducks.
Payton compared the atmosphere at Lumen Field to what Nix was used to at Husky Stadium when asked how the team would get him ready for the boisterous atmosphere there. Although Oregon lost to the eventual College Football Playoff runner-up by three points, Nix completed 33 of 44 passes for 337 yards and two touchdowns.
Payton stated, “It’s going to be loud.” “It’s possible that there will be some parallels to Oregon’s performance in front of a crowd of countless thousands when they travel to Washington. Just down the street is another boisterous stadium. So this week, we’ll deal with the noise from the crowd. We will not be playing this loud game for the first time.”
In addition to preparing for a team led by Mike Macdonald as their head coach, Denver’s Week 1 preparation will involve assigning new coordinators to each of the three phases.
