South Carolina’s Repeat Tour begins in about a month, on November 4 in Las Vegas. Throughout October, GamecockCentral will profile each member of the team and how she is expected to contribute this season. Today we look at the big shot specialist, Bree Hall.
Bree Hall (Senior, Guard, 6-2)
37 games (37 starts), 9.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.5 apg, 38.5 3P%
Player profile
After a slow start last season, Hall emerged as a prototypical three-and-D wing. She typically guarded the other team’s best perimeter player, knocked down threes to space the floor, and hit midrange jumpers.
Last season was Hall’s first playing major minutes and it took her a few weeks to settle into her role. She didn’t really hit her stride until the Tobacco Road trip at the end of November. That’s when she became the steady player everyone expected her to be. Now, Dawn Staley wants to see Hall become a more vocal leader.
“Breezy has got to step up into that role a little bit,” Staley said in September.
Burning question: Can Hall show enough to get selected in the WNBA Draft?
It was really hard to find a burning question for Hall. It feels like she is who she is at this point, and she is a very productive, reliable player. It would be nice if she could do more off the dribble, and she doesn’t create a lot for others. But if Kate Martin can get drafted, why can’t Breezy? She needs to keep doing what got her here.
South Carolina women’s basketball will officially open the 2024-2025 regular season in less than a month. Season tickets are sold out. And now, with a few weeks until the first game, the tip-off times for the new season have been unveiled.
Press release from USC Athletics on South Carolina women’s basketball schedule:
“The details of South Carolina women’s basketball’s 2024-25 schedule were finalized today with ESPN’s announcement of the television schedule. The reigning National Champions will play up to 15 games across five different national networks with another seven games set to air on SEC Network. Eight of those 22 games are non-conference affairs.
“The television audience will get to see the high energy environment at Colonial Life Arena, where season tickets are sold out for 2024-25, 11 times on the 14-game home schedule. ESPN will carry at least four of those games – Duke, Texas, LSU, and Kentucky – with ESPN2 picking up the Texas A&M game. South Carolina’s annual non-conference rivalry with UConn will air on ABC. The Gamecocks’ home game against Oklahoma will be on either ESPN or ESPN2. SEC Network will broadcast five South Carolina home games, including non-conference contests against USF and Wofford.
“Overall, South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley created a challenging schedule for her veteran team. The Gamecocks return nine of the 11 letterwinners on last year’s undefeated team and added the No. 2 recruiting class in the nation for the 2024-25 campaign. South Carolina’s 30-game regular-season schedule includes 12 games against teams ranked in the ESPN Way-Too-Early Top 25, including four against teams in the top five and four others against top-10 foes. Six of those 12 games are on the road or at neutral sites.
“South Carolina’s 15 national network games include appearances on ESPN/2, TNT, FS1, FOX, and ABC. The Gamecocks’ three non-conference home games not picked up by any network will be streamed on SECN+.
“The Gamecocks will unofficially kick off their 2024-25 season with an exhibition game against Memphis as part of the St. Jude® Tip Off Classic. South Carolina will play the second half of the event’s doubleheader at FedExForum with all ticket sale proceeds going directly to St. Jude® Children’s Research Hospital.”
