NETWORKING INTRODUCTION

Networking entails building and developing long-term mutually beneficial relationships with people you encounter in diverse places. You can develop a lifetime connection while participating in a sports league, attending a conference, or waiting in line for a morning coffee. For individuals who are intentional about building networks, there are constantly networking opportunities all around them. You don’t have to attend every lecture or join every professional organization to meet new individuals. To purposefully contact and connect with others in this smartphone era, one must leave electronics away.

When this topic comes up, you should constantly think of people who have fantastic ideas in the hopes of meeting people who will benefit you by seeking for chances or answers to their difficulties. Networking fosters long-term relationships with others; it is about making connections with people who, if you call them a year from now, will be delighted to hear from you; you will get together and share interesting projects you are working on, both good and bad, and gain knowledge from other people’s ideas; sociologists refer to this as having social capital; the more people you know who fit the previous description, the more valuable your network becomes. A positive recommendation from a credible source to your potential employer works like magic. People are also more likely to trust referrals for business and service providers than to engage strangers, particularly for sensitive and time-critical assignments.
