DeKALB, Ill. – Excitement is in the air as the Northern Illinois University football team returns to Huskie Stadium with a 2-0 record on the season heading into Saturday’s Mid-American Conference opener against the Buffalo Bulls (2-1). That excitement extends to the stands as NIU will hold its Salute to Service game, , honor local teachers for Extra Yard for Teachers Week, welcome almost 2,000 high school band students from 21 area schools for Band Day and host parents and others who are on campus for NIU’s Family Weekend.
