BACKING NEWS:Months After Separation, Simone Biles Reunites With Former Coach at the Ongoing Gold Over America Tour

Simone Biles, the shining star of American gymnastics with her jaw-dropping achievements, has always had someone special in her corner cheering her on—Cecile Landi. Their journey began in 2017, right when Simone was riding high after snagging four golds and a bronze at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Under Cecile’s watchful eye, Simone blossomed even further, crafting a bond that seemed unbreakable.

However, like all good things, their partnership faced a change when Cecile took on the role of co-head coach at the University of Georgia, leading to a bittersweet separation. But destiny has a funny way of bringing people back together. Now, with Simone’s latest event, the two are reunited, sparking a wave of nostalgia and excitement as they reignite the magic.

with a snapshot alongside Simone Biles and French gymnast Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos, sharing the heartfelt caption, “Loved seeing you and the show.” It was a moment filled with nostalgia, but what show was she talking about? The fabulous G.O.A.T. Tour had just rolled into Georgia, captivating audiences with its breathtaking performances, and there was no way Landi would miss out while being in the same city!

Three years ago, superstar  sparked a global conversation around mental health in sports when she chose to withdraw from the women’s team final at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and four subsequent individual finals to prioritise her mental health as she dealt with the now-infamous ‘twisties.’

That decision wasn’t easy.

Biles was upfront about the pain she felt having to set aside her dreams and all the work that had gone into it.

“Working five years for a dream and just having to give it up, it was not easy at all,” she told NBC’s Hoda Kotb at the time.

Looking back, Biles admits that even taking the first steps on her mental health journey, which became a huge part of her path to winning three golds and a silver medal at the Paris Games, was a struggle.

“In the beginning, I think the hardest part is logging on to my therapy sessions and convincing myself to go,” Biles told Olympics.com in an exclusive interview last month. “But as soon as I see my therapist and we start talking, it’s like I’m yapping the whole time. I’m so grateful for that.”
