BBC NEWS: reporter confirms Wrexham in talks for £53m-rated midfielder

Sources: Wrexham and West Brom make bids for Will Keane.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Preston turned down a deal from Wrexham for striker Will Keane that was almost £750,000 higher.

He is also being pursued by West Brom, who last week had their own proposal for him rejected.

Cardiff is considering a bid for the former Manchester United young player and is also interested in the 31-year-old.

Before the August 31 deadline, Keane’s signing is up for grabs for all three clubs.

Keane scored the game-winning goal in Preston’s 1-0 victory over Luton Town on Saturday. He has started three of the team’s first five games this season.

This week is Preston’s last chance to profit from the striker before his contract expires in the summer of 2020, barring a new agreement.

Will Keane is someone Wrexham wants to add to their potent attacking frontline.
Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, and Steve Fletcher are just a few of the strikers that Wrexham currently has under contract.

Still, Phil Parkinson wants to improve even more in order to lead his squad to a third straight promotion this season.

Keane does boast League One experience as he’s featured in 99 games, scoring 39 goals and providing 12 assists.

The attacker made 34 starts for Preston in the previous campaign, scoring 13 goals and dishing out three assists.

Wrexham, who have started their League One campaign without a loss, will visit Peterborough on Saturday, August 31.

In other news, Carl Rushworth is having a physical at Hull City following Brighton’s acceptance of the offer.
