A luxury Parisian hotel has issued a grovelling apology to tennis legend Serena Williams after she and her family were turned away from its restaurant on Monday.
Serena, 42, took to Twitter (X) on Monday night to accuse The Peninsula Hotel in Paris of refusing her and her children – Alexis Olympia Jr., 6, and Adira River, 11 months – a table in a seemingly empty restaurant. She told her 10.3million followers: “Yikes @peninsulaparis I’ve been denied access to rooftop to eat in a empty restaurant of nicer places but never with my kids. Always a first. #Olympic2024.”
The Peninsula Hotel has now responded to the sports legend’s angry tweet and have issued her with a grovelling apology. The apologetic tweet read: “Dear Mrs. Williams, Please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you encountered tonight. Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.”
Had he stayed in, it would have filled up to the top leaving him unable to move his entire body. After previously saying his ‘worst nightmare’ was to be buried or put in a coffin, Dean begged to be let out before bursting into tears in front of hosts Ant and Dec – meaning he only took home two stars, much to the disappointment of his hungry campmates.
But will Dean fare better tonight when he takes on the Drown In The Dumps Bushtucker Trial with this year’s I’m A Celeb ‘screamer’, social media and podcast star, GK Barry?
Opening up about it on I’m A Celeb for the first time, Coleen – who is married to legendary footballer Wayne Rooney – revealed she never intended for things do go that far.
Asked if she was scared to post the social media message revealing the person she thought was secretly selling stories on her to The Sun newspaper was Rebekah Vardy after she set up an Instagram sting, Coleen said: “No, because I didn’t think it would have the impact it did.”
