Lydia Ko Ls Not Participating in the 2024 NW Arkansas Championship Deu To Some ……
The 2024 season has been an absolute stunner for Lydia Ko. After winning the gold in the Paris Olympics, she entered the LPGA Hall of Fame. She was not done as she then went on to win the major trophy at St. Andrews. Then, Ko appeared at the Kroger Queen City Championship last week and won her 22nd title on the LPGA Tour. This marked three consecutive wins in her last three appearances.
Lydia Ko defeated Atthaya Thitikul with a whopping five strokes. “I hung in there yesterday, and I said I know that Jeeno and a lot of the other girls aren’t going to play bad golf, so I just got to try and play even better golf. To have a round like this to cap off a win is pretty special,” said Ko after winning the event. Now the question is, will she be part of the next event on the LPGA Tour?
Lydia Ko has been playing since May. Her last break was after the Chevron Championship in April, where she finished at T17, and almost a month later appeared at the Cognizant Founders Cup, where she finished at T35. Although it did not work out for her immediately, after playing six matches post-break, Ko came back stronger.
As the NW Arkansas is just a few days away, the tournament’s official website released the entire field list. Although there has been no official reason as to why she will not be playing at the event, speculations are that she must be tired of competing and could use a little break. On top of the Majors and Olympics was also the team format Solheim Cup. She was part of the European team through automatic qualification.Unfortunately, their team could not grab the trophy, but the effort put in by every player was equally tough. This might be the time that the New Zealand professional golfer has decided to take a break until she comes back with all the more power in her next appearance. But when will she play next after the TPC River’s Bend victory?
