Sad News for colorado buffs ride: He won’t play again

DENVER (KDVR) — The University of Colorado Buffaloes couldn’t keep the lead during Saturday’s game against Kansas State, ending their three-game winning streak.

Leading 21-7 in the third quarter, the Wildcats saw the Buffaloes (4-2, 2-1) steadily chip away. Colorado took the lead when Shedeur Sanders threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to LaJohntay Wester with 3:12 left in the game. But ultimately, Kansas State escaped with a 31-28 win over CU.

The game was also filled with an array of injuries. Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter left in the second quarter due to an apparent shoulder injury. Three other Buffs receivers were injured in the game: speedster Jimmy Horn Jr. (apparent ankle), Omarion Miller (left ankle) and Terrell Timmons Jr. (unspecified).

“Sometimes when you lose in life, you get your butt kicked and you’ve just got to take. Sometimes you lose, you say, ‘Dang, we should’ve won that. We should’ve had that,’” Colorado coach Deion Sanders said. “That was one of those types of games. That’s not taking anything away from our opponents because they played their butts off.”

Several celebrities were at Folsom Field to watch the matchup between the Buffs and the Wildcats.

Longtime NBA standout Carmelo Anthony was on the sideline wearing a Colorado Avalanche jersey. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were also spotted among the fans.

While the Buffs’ three-game winning streak came to a halt, the team is looking towards their next game against the University of Arizona on Saturday.

Deion Sanders had one heck of a ride last weekend. Not only did his “revamped” offensive line crumble like biscuits under pressure, but his D-line also failed him. Allowing the Wildcats to rush more than a run-heavy team like the Knights, the Buffs were in a bad spot. Adding insult to injury was the fact that Deion Sanders lost 2 of his best players in the first half of the game (Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn Jr.)

But the worst blow was Omarion Miller‘s season-ending injury. Out with an ACL, Miller is supposed to be Coach Prime’s next big player after Hunter leaves for the NFL. Still, all is not lost because there is one more Buffs commit who is coming back to the game. WE Coming took to X an update regarding a Buffs freshman. “Colorado Freshman WR/CB Kam Mikell had a successful surgery,” WE Coming mentioned. Kam Mikell was due for surgery for a long time. While it is still unknown why he needed to go through medical treatment, it is clear that he is going to be the next big thing for Colorado.
