Premier League loan for an international player who Nottingham Forest purchased in June for £15 million
Following a points deduction from the previous season, Nottingham Forest had to perform some financial acrobatics in June to make sure the team satisfied the most recent PSR cycle.
Odysseas Vlachodimos, who cost £20 million to join the Reds from Newcastle, was compensated for by Elliot Anderson, who went to Forest for £35 million.
Lyon then joined the battle to support Forest in their attempt to reach the PSR cutoff for the most recent term.
Moussa Niakhate paid an incredible £28 million to join the team, and Orel Mangala paid £15 million to become a permanent member of the Ligue 1 team.
Mangala’s loan move to Lyon may not have been well received, but the midfield player has since shown progress.
Orel Mangala is expected to join Everton on a loan.
Mangala is expected to come to Goodison Park in order to terminate his stay at Lyon early, according to Fabrizio Romano.
After briefly appearing to be a relegation candidate, Mangala made 12 appearances for the Ligue 1 team while on loan last season, helping them qualify for European play.
Despite only obtaining a permanent contract this summer, he has now fallen in the standings and will be going on loan to Everton.
Sean Dyche needs more players for the Toffees after their opening two games of the season saw losses of 3-0 to Brighton and 4-0 to Tottenham.
Mangala is reportedly scheduled for a Goodison Park physical and will now strengthen the team prior to the transfer deadline.
While at the City Ground, the 26-year-old made 53 appearances and netted two goals.
