The true story of a mother giving birth to 11 children at once caused a stir in the public.
The photo of a woman, and two other photos showing a man, and another photo showing a woman, surrounded by many babies, are being shared on social media with a fake claim that she delivered 17 baby boys all at once.
Many social media users, both on Facebook and Twitter, have been sharing three photos — one showing a pregnant woman with unusually huge belly and two images showing a man in one photo and a woman in another, surrounded by 17 babies — with a claim that an American woman gave birth to 17 baby boys at once.
A Facebook user ‘Dolly Modo Ridings’ shared the three photos saying, “Catherine Bridge holds the World Record for the most babies in a lone pregnancy by giving birth to 17 babies…,” along with a link to an article published on a website that goes by the name ‘Women Daily Magazine’.
On searching with the same caption on Facebook, we found another user — Richard Camarinta Dy — who shared the same three photos with the same caption in a post and that post got shared over 33,000 times
Another Twitter user ‘@OfficialKvist’ shared the same photos with the same caption, and the tweet got liked over 32,000 times and retweeted over 26,000 times.

This misinformation originated from an article that was published on a satirical website called ‘World News Daily Report (WNDR)’ by the title ‘USA: Mother gives birth to 17 babies at once
The article the two Facebook users mentioned above shared along with the false claim and three photos, in the fourth paragraph, states, “Although the news went viral, unfortunately it was just a fictional article written by the World News Daily Report.”

On searching with keywords ‘America mother gives birth to 17 babies world news daily report’ we found the article published on WNDR website. A disclaimer on the footer of the website says, “World News Daily Report assumes all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any person, living, dead or undead, is purely a miracle.”

The third photo was found to be of Dr Robert Biter and was seen published in an article published on Huffington Post’s ‘Life’ titled ‘Why I’m Protesting For My Natural-Birth Friendly OB’. Dr Biter is an Obstetrician-gynecologist.
Times Fact Check has found that the claim that an American woman delivered 17 babies all at once to be false. Two of the photos used to make this claim are digitally manipulated and one is of an American Obstetrician-gynecologist clicked with babies.
