Regarding the readiness of the quarterbacks for the Cleveland Browns for their regular season opening against the Dallas Cowboys on September 8, the scoreboard shows Jameis Winston 2 and Deshaun Watson 0.
Watson did not participate in any of the three preseason games, while Winston started two of them.
After falling to the Seahawks 37-33 on Saturday night, the Browns concluded the preseason without a win.
In regards to Watson and a big number of starters, Kevin Stefanski made the decision to go with “rest vs. rust.” Despite not playing in the preseason, Stefanski expressed his optimism that Watson will be ready for the season’s first game.

Stefanski stated in the beginning that he had intended to play Watson in the preseason finale, but he ultimately decided to hold him out when Watson had some mild discomfort on Wednesday in his surgically repaired right arm. On Thursday, Watson did make a comeback to the practice and completed all of his first-team reps.
Watson is anticipated to start for the Browns against the Cowboys despite not having played in a regular season or preseason game since inspiring the team to a thrilling comeback victory over the Ravens on November 12, 2023, 33-31.
