BRUSSELS – To help the Icelandic chocolatier Nói Síríus enhance production-line performance and streamline maintenance, Rockwell Automation, Inc., the largest firm in the world devoted to industrial automation and digital transformation, is collaborating with the company.
Leading Icelandic chocolatier and well-known household brand Nói Síríus needs to find ways to improve the productivity and dependability of its manufacturing line while also optimizing its support processes to ease the workload on the maintenance staff.
The company chose to use Rockwell Automation’s Fiix CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) software to standardize the management of its maintenance operations after weighing a number of possibilities. Fiix has allowed Nói Síríus to gather data regarding the upkeep and operation of all of its primary assembly-line equipment.

The Fiix intelligent queue-management features allowed the Nói Síríus maintenance staff to reduce disruptions brought on by the requirement for speedy solutions to unforeseen issues. The team was able to prioritize the job queue in conjunction with operations personnel thanks to the new CMMS platform.
Now that the first deployment was over six months ago, Nói Síríus and Rockwell Automation are collaborating to network the entire production facility. After this is finished, the chocolatier will switch to a data-driven, predictive maintenance methodology, working with Rockwell Automation consultants, which will help it further maximize uptime, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
“Our maintenance staff is much happier since adopting Fiix software,” stated Guðmundur Ingi Einarsson, Nói Siríus’s technical manager.
